[March the 17th]
Remus felt that, after these past eight years of friendship, occasionally he deserved to be the one to barge in unannounced and make his own plans and, just maybe, ruin whatever it was Sirius had planned in order to claim his attention. Granted, it was unlikely that when Sirius walked in on Remus that the other young man would be doing anything inappropriate. In the alternative it was... more of a risk. So it was with only a slight amount of trepidation at the threshold that made Remus pause before he lifted his hand and placed the palm of his hand flat against the front door of Sirius' flat.

The tingle of magic slopped up his wrist and arm, making the hairs on his forearm raise up in uncomfortable alarm. He grit his teeth against it, though, until that barely-restrained ward recognized him and recoiled carefully, and although the threat of violent spells still hung in the air Remus seemed to be encompassed by them, rather than their target. It was a shame, that the times had come to expect such defences at residences, but it was surely better than the alternative.

Still, he had to run his keyring through his fingers until he found the spare key Sirius had given him way back when he'd first gotten the apartment, and although the wards had likely already notified Sirius to his visitor (if he was so inclined to notice them), an upbringing of etiquette had Remus rapping his knuckles against the door even as he opened it. So much for barging in unannounced, then.

"Sirius?" Remus stepped inside and heaved a sigh, head tipping back slightly as he rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath, letting the various smells of the flat wrap him up like a warm blanket. Not all of them were pleasant-- stale beer and leftover Chinese take-away were distinct from the kitchen, but the flat was suffused with that strange smell of warm-good-comfort he'd never possibly admit to. Although the full moon was coming soon, just under a week in fact, he could at least still stand to be in the same room as Sirius without getting all sorts of exceedingly awkward territorial feelings-- There had been more than one occasion when he'd forced himself to storm out of a room while Sirius was talking about his latest conquest, and while it only cemented his reputation of apparently being a prude (which he wasn't, really-- he was just as bad as any of them, as long as Sirius wasn't evolved, but apparently only Sirius' opinion counted, and so Moony Is A Prude) it was still preferable to the alternative. He hadn't thought too much about the alternative, honestly, but he suspected it probably involved flying tackles and, quite possibly, the shredding of clothing.

"Sirius--" Once he'd felt his nerves, rubbed raw from his bad day, were calm enough, he tried again. "Sorry I didn't give you a heads-up, or anything. Had a... a bit of a stressful day, really, just thought we could do something. You have anything in mind? I thought, maybe, it's a lovely day out-- we could always take you for a walk, if you're feeling up to it..." As he spoke he was kicking off his shoes and tossing his jacket onto the chair left near the door specifically for that purpose. "Really, it doesn't matter, I'm not too picky right now."
